Acceptable Use Policy

The rules that govern how you may use the Build IG platform.

This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Master Services Agreement (the "Agreement"). Capitalised terms have the meanings given in the Agreement, including "Platform", "Output", "Client Data" and "User". Where this Policy conflicts with the body of the Agreement or Annexes A to C, those documents prevail. Breach of this Policy is a material breach and may result in suspension under clause 15.1 of the Agreement. References in this Policy to restrictions on your use of the Platform correspond to clause 9.7 of the Agreement.

1. Lawful use

  • Do not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any building code, professional practice act, licensing rule, export control or sanctions law.
  • Do not use the Platform in breach of clause 5 of the Agreement — in particular, do not use an output for a Regulated Purpose without professional validation.
  • Do not misrepresent an output as certified, verified, code-compliant or professionally validated when it is not.

2. Content you upload

  • Do not upload material you do not have the right to upload, or that breaches a confidentiality obligation owed to a client, employer or third party.
  • Do not upload special category data under GDPR Article 9, or sensitive personal information under US state laws, without agreeing additional measures with us in writing first.
  • Do not upload malware, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or infringing.
  • Minimise personal information in uploads where the analysis does not require it.

3. Technical restrictions

  • Do not reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, models or model weights of the Platform.
  • Do not use the Platform to build or improve a competing product or service.
  • Do not use the Platform, or any Output, to train any machine learning model. This restriction runs one way: it limits what you may do with our Platform and Outputs. Build IG's own use of your data for model development is governed by clauses 9.3 to 9.6 of the Agreement.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, spider or use automated means to access the Platform, other than through a Build IG-provided API in accordance with the Documentation.
  • Do not circumvent rate limits, seat limits, usage quotas, authentication or access controls.
  • Do not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Platform without our prior written consent. Report vulnerabilities to security@buildig.ai.
  • Do not conduct benchmarking or publish performance comparisons of the Platform without our prior written consent, per clause 9.7 of the Agreement. We will not unreasonably withhold consent to a fair, accurate comparison whose methodology is disclosed.

4. Account integrity

  • Do not share credentials, or allow anyone who is not an authorised User to access your account.
  • Do not resell, sublicense, rent or provide the Platform as a service bureau to third parties.
  • Do not remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notice, watermark or output legend.

5. Service integrity

  • Do not take any action that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or that interferes with other customers' use of the Platform.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data.

6. Reporting and enforcement

6.1 Report suspected breaches to abuse@buildig.ai and security issues to security@buildig.ai.

6.2 We may investigate suspected breaches and may suspend access under clause 15.1 of the Agreement where we reasonably believe a breach has occurred or where suspension is necessary to protect the Platform or other customers. We will give as much notice as is reasonably practicable.

6.3 We may update this Policy on thirty (30) days' notice under clause 17.2 of the Agreement.
